Found some old photos

I've been getting a little more sleep lately. I've stopped walking around like a dazed zombie. Anyway, a while back I found some old photos that I wanted to save before they got destroyed or lost forever, so I've scanned them in and uploaded them. Enjoy!

Sleep? Sleep... hmm. Nope, it doesn't ring a bell

So guess who called last Wednesday? Think big... think retailer...

Yep, so I'm working on a project for them. They have made throwing their weight around into an art-form. People make life changes at their whim, every single day.

In the past, when I've done these sorts of things for them, I am always grateful to get the opportunity to do something new and interesting. Well, this time.. not so much. Guess what? It's not new, and it's not interesting. It's only fast and dirty work... and it had better be done yesterday. Also, when I have done this in the past I've had the help of some great people who lead the way and forge forward taking the necessary initiative and dealing with the client directly, while I do the amazing behind the scenes work that makes everyone very happy. This time... well, with Wes having just quit (again) last week, and John pursiuing other opportunites as of 10 months ago... it's just me. Sure I have great people working with me... I couldn't do any of this without them, but at the end of the day, if the project fails, its because of something that I did or did not do. I am, by far, the most experienced person on the team... which is fine, but it makes me nervous and cranky and stressed out. And everybody is looking at me for direction. It's almost like... like... I'm a manager or something. I'm not pleased with the situation, but I think I can make it work. Plus there is talk about bringing another guy in as manager. He's a great guy, but doesn't have the technical background that Wes had, or the no-bs experience that John had.

The next few months are going to be very interesting.

So, how many hours have I worked these past two weeks (the payperiod doesn't end until Sunday...its only thursday). 130 hours as of the end of the day today. And that is WITH taking last Thursday almost completely off, and Friday yet to come. This isn't quite the same as the 176 hours I did in a pay period last time this client needed a project... but I have a feeling I'm, once again, going to be added to the top 100 list of all time most hours worked in a single pay period. I'll run a report quick (yeah, I'm a dork) to show you me on the list of top 100 most hours worked in a pay period: #1 with 174.75, #27 with 146.00 and #71 with 134.5. I'm going to work on Saturday, too, to try to get a jump on some of the stuff for monday. It should put add me to somewhere in the 40s or 50s with this week.

Sleep...ah, it sounds like a dream.

Age old question: Critter or Varmint?

Definately a Varmint...

This guy is so bold. He occasionally lives under our Deck, but today we found him just sunning himself in the back yard.

Max May's online Journal

For those of you who have met Max, here is a link to his personal, online journal. He loves hearing from people. Why don't you drop him a line?

Oh-bama, you Barack'ing my world

Molly was up in Minnesota this last weekend to visit family. While she was there, Barack Obama was in town to deliver a speach before Super-Duper Fat Tuesday (at the Target Center).

These are the pictures/video from that event. Take a look a the videos... amazing how many people were there.

Enjoy!

Lazy weekend

Not much going on here at the Norris household this weekend... Molly is in Minnesota, and I'm planning on doing a little bit of work this weekend... advance some projects a little bit.

Tonight Josh (Yoder) and I bottled his Belgium White (Wit) beer. Its a nice color, smells terrible, but tastes great. We didn't get the original or final gravity that we were looking for, so I think it will end up being a little stronger than a kinderbeer, but not much more. Maybe 3.75% alcohol when its all said and done. But it is very tasty... the Coriander makes it a bit on the "strong" side. But it should mellow out nicely.

For me? Not much has been going on. Still trying to get back into the swing of things after being in KC for so long. It is nice to be home. Been doing those Sunday "hikes", then dinner with Lindsey and Josh. This week Molly had a snow day, so that was kind of fun for her. We've also been trying to get our garage cleaned out enough so we can get a freezer in there so we can starg kegging. We put up some more "ceiling" shelves (we have like a 20 ft ceiling in the garage). We also moved our trash cans out to the side yard. All that is left is to clear out just a little but more of the random clutter, then well have room for both molly's car (which has remained in the driveway since we've moded here) and a freezer.

That's been pretty much it. How has everyone else been?
