40 pre-baby days!

So the countdown has begun: 40 days until we (are expected) to have a baby. For those of you who are recent parents, I'm sure you understand the significant change that having children has on your life. Molly and I have decided that we're going to get the most out of our last 40 childless days, by doing things that are simple if you're not a parent, but much more difficult/different when you are parents, specifically of a newborn.

We have compiled a list of 31 things (so far), and they are, in no particular order:

  1. Watch a scary movie
  2. See a movie in the theater
  3. Go out to long dinner at a restaurant
  4. Sleep in
  5. Stay up late, for no reason
  6. Go see a sports game (baseball, hockey, basketball, whatever)
  7. Go to the opera/symphony
  8. Hit a local happy hour for drinks (dad-to-be will do the drinking part, thank you)
  9. Do nothing at all
  10. Enjoy some drinks out on a patio when its nice out
  11. Sit around the house naked all night
  12. Have sex in a room other than the bedroom
  13. Get in the car and drive until sunset, rent a hotel room
  14. Shop frivolously
  15. Go for a nice long hike
  16. Rent an adult film
  17. Get a couples massage
  18. Take a long hot bath w/ candles
  19. Read a book, uninterrupted
  20. Put on blindfolds, sit across from one another and feed each other pudding (saw this in a movie, and it looked like fun)
  21. Brew a beer, uninterrupted
  22. Host an adult-only party
  23. Buy a new video game and play it
  24. Have sex first thing in the morning
  25. Go bowling
  26. Play some mini-golf
  27. Go to a rock concert
  28. Cook a 4-course, gourmet meal
  29. Put a puzzle together
  30. Go camping
  31. Go wine tasting
We're looking for suggestions on the last 9! Please help us out! Molly is very hopeful that we won't use all 40 (come-on early baby!)

We will also be blogging about each one of these things that we do, so look for updates.

You've already got the massage, but a pedicure is always nice, too! Looks like you guys have covered the big ones - pretty much anything spontaneous goes out the window. However, sitting around the house naked does not. Kids don't care until they're like 3 - so clothing of all stages is pretty common around here. If Molly is planning to nurse, that naked thing happens a LOT the first few weeks!
